As a distinguished and trusted voice, the AMS has been promoting and disseminating accurate scientific information in the atmospheric, oceanic and hydrological sciences for decades. Eye Towards the Sky taps into this wealth of expertise, with its mission to make scientific knowledge accessible to all members of the public in a factual and enjoyable way. 

Beyond education, this series fosters direct conversation with experts and encourages connections among like-minded individuals in an informal, enriching setting. Held annually, these events are curated to present the most timely and scientifically accurate discussions on weather, climate and climate change. Speakers are carefully chosen not only for their knowledge and expertise but also for their proven ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences, regardless of their expertise or background.

The inaugural event, hosted at the Boston Public Library on October 10, 2019, featured Gavin Pretor-Pinney, President of the Cloud Appreciation Society. As interest has grown, with panel experts including distinguished and award-winning researchers and scientists from the top US academic institutions, events are now held at WBUR CitySpace in Boston, welcoming both live and online audiences.
